Volunteer Today

Bring your compassion to the front lines to help care for our guests.

Put your love in action.

We need your heart of compassion on the front lines. The incredible generosity of our volunteers helps us decrease overhead and continue to provide compassionate, quality care to the survivors in our shelter.

The Spring provides indirect and direct volunteer opportunities.

Indirect service volunteers actively support The Spring’s donation center, kitchen and on-going projects & events. Direct service volunteers engage one-on-one with guests at The Spring, though these opportunities require additional training provided by The Spring.

Here are a few key volunteer opportunities:

  • Volunteer with our guests by leading a book reading or discussion. Materials or books must be approved by The Spring.

  • Assist guests in preparing for employment through various supportive activities, including resume building, interview preparation, and skill development.

  • Volunteer to process items such as clothing, bedding, and household essentials to help provide our guests with what they need to thrive.

  • Provide hair styling, cutting, and dying services to our guests in our Beauty Salon. Must be adaptable to all hair types or specialize in specific hair types. (Must be licensed.)

  • Create engaging activities and provide care for children, giving parents time to attend to their needs or participate in programs.

  • Are you or your church interested in volunteering at The Spring by leading a worship service or Bible study? We welcome those who want to share their faith and build community through worship. This is a great opportunity to inspire others and support spiritual growth. Join us in making a positive impact through engaging worship experiences and Bible studies.

  • Help by cleaning various spaces and items within the shelter, ensuring a hygienic and welcoming environment for our guests.

  • Maintain and clean the Pet Shelter, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for pets. Assist with feeding and caring for the animals.

  • Assist with various projects depending on the season, such as holiday events, educational workshops, and community outreach programs.

  • Serve by cooking, cleaning, and serving food to our guests. We particularly need weekend meal support. (Requires completion of Food Handler's permit.)

*Requires direct service training.
